A black pencil skirt is one basic piece that every woman should have in their closet. But why not take it a notch higher & get one in leather. There is nothing basic about this one that I thrifted on Ebay because not only does it fit perfectly (not too tight & not too short) but it also has pockets 🙌🏾, yes you read it right, Pockets. If I was a project manager at some construction firm, this is how I would show up at the construction site on Monday morning (in my head of course). An all black outfit or dressing in dark colors in general gives off some sense of authority or seriousness that go a long way in asserting a certain position. Don't you agree?

Minimalism is a concept that I admire but unfortunately cannot practice. As a self-admitting print lover, there is simply no way that I can limit my wardrobe to a certain number of pieces & little or no color. But once in a while, I go for the basic pieces & quite enjoy my 'minimalist' moments.

Finding a camel coat that was the perfect length that I wanted & which was affordable too turned out to be a major problem. So, I decided to make one myself which turned out quite cute especially when styled with this Gingham top that I made myself too. And now that the sunny & warmer side of Spring is taking it's sweet time to show up, I get a chance to rock my new coat now.
